Jan 28th 2021 - Just before 15:20 hours Westmont Fire Company was dispatched to 210 W. Crystal Lake Avenue for the report of an apartment fire with people trapped. Squirt 1511 reported heavy fire showing from two floors of a 2 story apartment building. Crews initiated an aggressive interior attack and perform a search. Crews located a victim on the first floor, but was an obvious fatality.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by the local and county authorities.
